Seven Years & Counting
I’d been working at “the world’s largest musical instrument retailer” for almost a year when one of my closest friends/favorite co-workers, Stephen (also known as the “scary guy” in Pro Audio), asked me out…
Sure, I had reservations about going out with someone I was already so close to. Wasn’t sure if I wanted to risk our friendship. Plus, we worked together… Talk about a gamble.
So why say yes? There was just something different about this guy… Cheesy, I know, but it’s the truth.
Stephen suffered a heatstroke from working outside on the morning of our date. I assumed he wanted to cancel… Nope. He refused to even reschedule. It was sweet actually.
The pièce de résistance was his choice in movies. In the past, my love of horror flicks had been a deal breaker for some people. I’m still puzzled as to why, but I guess it really doesn’t matter now. When I arrived, Stephen had The Beyond (my favorite Lucio Fulci film) cued up and ready for viewing…
Hard to believe that was seven years ago. In many ways, it seems like no time has passed… Good ways. Lucky lady right here.
Oh, no… It’s happened. I’m sappy. NO! How did this happen? Don’t answer that, I know how. This is what marrying your best friend gets you… Happiness. Oh, the horror.
